Microsoft is investigating ways to integrate an AI-powered super-upscaling solution to work with all Windows applications. This feature is hidden, but experienced users can enable it by accessing Settings – System – Display – Graphics.
The upscaler, called ‘Auto SR,’ is implemented in the Windows 11 24H2 Insider Build to work with functions like cameras and windowed games. This OS-level super-resolution requires a processor with NPU or GPUs with tensor cores.
With this feature, Windows 11 24H2 is expected to bring some exciting updates to Co-Pilot, including sudo support and quality-of-life changes, which now has a dedicated Copilot key and a subscription service.
