DataStax has announced that Wikimedia Deutschland is utilizing its AI platform, built with NVIDIA AI technologies, to make Wikidata accessible as an embedded vectorized database.
Wikidata, which supports all Wikipedia language versions, is a collaborative knowledge graph containing over 114 million entries from a global community of more than 24,000 volunteers. The objective is to provide this data as an openly accessible dataset for the Open Source AI/ML Community. A key technical challenge involved vector embedding such a large and dynamic dataset, which was successfully achieved, processing over 10 million entries in under three days.
