Visual Studio Code 1.77 provides a preview of the GitHub Copilot chat

Microsoft’s extensible code editor Visual Studio Code 1.77, released on March 30 as the March 2023 version, offers a sneak peek at a deeper integration with the GitHub Copilot AI coding assistant, including inline suggestions and chat functionality.

The TypeScript/JavaScript switch case completions included in the VS Code update enable users to scaffold out switch statements over literal types in either programming language. Users can test out GitHub Copilot features like inline suggestions, a chat view for seeking assistance, and inline chat in VS Code 1.77 as well.

Using the GitHub Copilot Nightly extension and the VS Code Insiders Build, developers can test out the new features.
