Valve has released a new Experimental update for Proton, enhancing its compatibility with several games. Building on the stable September 19 Proton 9.0-3 release, this update introduces support for Nvidia’s Optical Flow AI and DLSS 3 Frame Generation, promising for gaming on Linux.
The changelog features numerous fixes addressing video playback, crashes, performance, and input/display issues. Notably, mod support for Doom Eternal has been improved. The update also corrects thread priority settings, enhancing overall performance. Additionally, it includes updates from DXVK and VKD3D-Proton, focusing on DirectX12 support for high-end PCs.
