A Seattle startup called Temporal has raised USD 75 million to assist businesses in creating and managing cloud applications. As more software development moves to the cloud, especially with the use of micro services, the complexity of maintaining code increases.
Ad-hoc systems are replaced by Temporal’s open-source micro services orchestration platform, freeing up developers’ time to code. The goal is to spend less time on reliability and scalability. More than 350 clients, including Datadog, Descript, Netflix, Snap, and others, purchase a managed service from Temporal, which generates revenue.
A year ago, Temporal raised USD 103 million and was valued at USD 1.5 billion. The new round of funding follows that. The business claimed that since the previous round, revenues and customers have increased by 20X.
