The Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) has taken a stance to emphasize the importance of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) alternatives in the wake of the revelation that Zoom has been repurposing private user data to train machine learning models.
The SFC, a supporter of software freedom and rights, is stepping up its initiatives to offer moral technology options and advertise FOSS solutions for various needs. The SFC is extending its assistance to the FOSS community in response to Zoom’s actions by officially integrating its BigBlueButton chat server into its infrastructure.
The organization also encourages people who contribute to FOSS to apply for access to FOSS projects that are already part of its portfolio.
