Samsung Revamps Leadership to Strengthen Chip Divisions Amid AI Rivalry

Samsung Electronics has restructured its leadership team to enhance its memory and foundry chip divisions in the competitive AI market. Young Hyun Jun, previously Vice Chairman and Head of the Device Solutions Division, has been promoted to CEO, emphasizing the critical role of semiconductors.

He will also manage the Memory Business and the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. Meanwhile, Jinman Han, former EVP of Device Solutions America, has been elevated to President and will lead the Foundry Business. This highlights the significance of American customers for Samsung’s foundry operations as the company seeks to compete with SK Hynix and TSMC.
