Ryzen 9 9950X Shows Promising Performance and Efficiency Gains in Early Benchmarks

AnandTech forum member Igor Kavinski posted engineering sample Blender benchmark results for the Ryzen 9 9950X, showing performance at various TDP levels. The newer chip outperforms the older Ryzen 9 7950X at higher power budgets, with a significant performance improvement at 230W TDP.

The performance difference narrows down as TDP decreases, with the Ryzen 9 9950X still performing well at 120W TDP. Also, early Geekbench results indicate that the new architecture may surpass previous generations and even rival Intel’s Core i9 chips in single-core performance.

These benchmarks show promising performance and power efficiency gains. This hints at a positive future for AMD desktop and potentially laptop platforms.
