In a recent test by Chips and Cheese, the Asus ROG Ally Z1 and the Steam Deck were compared in various GPU compute benchmarks. The testing used Nemes’ Vulkan benchmark suite.
It showed that the ROG Ally Z1 traded blows with the Steam Deck regarding GPU performance, with the newer iGPU architecture of the Ally Z1 offering a lead in some areas.
In contrast, the Steam Deck remained competitive in others. However, regarding raw gaming performance, the Steam Deck is still considered the better choice for an entry-level experience.
