Pixeltable has launched an open-source AI data infrastructure, securing USD 5.5 million in seed funding led by The General Partnership, with participation from several investors, including Exceptional Capital and industry veterans like Michael Stoppelman and Wes McKinney.
The infrastructure addresses the growing complexity of AI applications by reducing infrastructure code by up to 80% and compute waste by 50%. Key features include a unified multimodal interface for handling various data types, automatic incremental updates to minimize redundant processing, and combined lineage and versioning for tracking transformations from data to model inferences.
