OpenTofu, a Terraform fork, becomes generally accessible

OpenTofu, an infrastructure automation platform fork of the well-liked Terraform, went general availability. The accomplishment comes after a four-month development period involving over sixty engineers.

The project’s backers claim that over 150 businesses, including a number of venture-backed enterprise software startups, support OpenTofu. The platform is now appropriate for use in production environments as a result of its general release.

A new iteration of HashiCorp Inc.’s well-known open-source project Terraform is called OpenTofu. Terraform is used by software teams at over 60,000 companies to provision cloud infrastructure.
