The Linux kernel patch has revealed that Clearwater Forest, an upcoming all-E-Core Xeon processor family from Intel, will be launched in 2025 and use Atom Darkmont cores.
This is the first patch addressing Clearwater Forest, and its support in this release is limited to the new 0xDD model number for these CPUs.
Intel is also preparing to launch Sierra Forest, its first all-E-Core Xeon processor family, this summer. Intel’s open-source Linux software engineers have laid the groundwork for Sierra Forest, enabling hardware support in the OS and related open-source projects.
