Microsoft has announced the general availability of Windows Server 2025, showcasing an extensive list of supported CPUs. The lineup features Intel’s powerful 64-core Granite and Emerald Rapids processors, alongside several generations of Xeon SP CPUs from the second to the fifth generation, based on architectures like Ice Lake and Raptor Lake.
Notably, the support also includes two entry-level Pentium processors, the G7400 and G7400T, which are Alder Lake-based dual-core chips. Despite their low power and basic features, their inclusion raises questions about their suitability for Server 2025, as their capabilities seem limited compared to the higher-end options.
