Microsoft readies Kubernetes public preview for Windows, IoT devices

Microsoft’s Azure and Azure Arc cloud management platform is continuing to evolve, as evidenced by several product announcements at the Ignite 2022 conference this week.

The availability of an Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) public preview for Windows IoT and Windows-based devices in November was announced this week by Microsoft. Microsoft also disclosed this week that it is extending the Azure Hybrid Benefit to AKS and Azure Stack HCI for users interested in using AKS plus Azure Arc to manage their apps from cloud to edge (Hyperconverged Infrastructure).

If customers have Windows Software Assurance and Cloud Solution Provider Subscriptions, they can use AKS on Windows Server and Azure Stack HCI at no extra cost.
