Microsoft Halts Windows 11 24H2 Update for Ubisoft Games Due to Crashes

Microsoft has temporarily halted the Windows 11 24H2 update for devices with select Ubisoft games installed, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, due to crashes and compatibility issues.

While Ubisoft has released a workaround, performance regressions may occur. Users have reported unresponsiveness, freezing, and black screens while playing these titles. As a precaution, devices with affected games won’t receive the 24H2 update through Windows Update.

Microsoft and Ubisoft are collaborating on a fix, but they advise against manual updates until the issue is resolved. No expected release date for a permanent solution has been announced.
