Parent company of Facebook, Meta, has released the Buck2 build system under the MIT open source license.
The company said that Buck2, which was written in Rust and intended to speed up and improve the build process, is used by thousands of developers at Meta and handles millions of builds every day. As a quicker replacement for the Buck1 build system, Buck2 was made open-source on April 6.
It can be accessed from GitHub or the Buck2 website. The system has the ability to create software in any language, and it can create software in multiple languages at once.
