LUnix can Run on NES, a Unix-like OS Demo Proves

A programmer and tech enthusiast named DeCrAzYo has developed a way to run Unix on the NES using original Nintendo hardware alone. He had to code the software himself since the hardware used for the NES was underpowered for running Linux.

He used LUnix, an OS meant to run on the Commodore 64, as a starting point for his project. Although the NES and the Commodore 64 are different systems, DeCrAzYo managed to achieve his goal of running Unix on the NES’s processor and within its memory using original hardware.
