The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes innovation through open source, has announced the launch of the OpenSearch Software Foundation. This community-driven initiative will support OpenSearch, a search software developers use worldwide to create search, analytics, observability, and vector database applications.
Hosted by the Linux Foundation, the OpenSearch Software Foundation will collaborate with community maintainers, developers, and founding member organizations to foster the growth of OpenSearch.
The foundation has received support from premier members AWS, SAP, and Uber. Its primary focus will be to support the OpenSearch Project, established as an open technical project within the Linux Foundation and overseen by a technical steering committee.
