James Sargent, a maker and developer, has created a Game Boy Color drop-in kit called the ReBoi that uses two Raspberry Pi. The kit requires no soldering and can be easily assembled inside the Game Boy Color shell.
It has a custom PCB that supports Raspberry Pi and a microcontroller to handle input from the original Game Boy Color buttons. The kit also offers customizable RGB lights and the ability to track battery levels.
This project has recently been featured on Kickstarter and has surpassed its funding goal of USD 19,075 with 218 backers.
