Video game developer Insomniac Games Inc. and Comcast Corp.’s Xfinity subsidiary have both been the victim of significant data breaches that have exposed over a million records.
The details of millions of Xfinity customers’ accounts were stolen by hackers in a cyberattack that was made public on Monday. On the other hand, the Insomnia breach was initially discovered last Tuesday. More than a million files pertaining to the company’s video game development roadmap have now been made public by the ransomware group responsible for the reach.
Customers can subscribe to cable television and the internet through Xfinity. In a regulatory filing, it revealed that 35.8 million customers’ usernames and hashed passwords had been accessed by hackers.
