A recent Geekbench 6 score offers a glimpse at the single-core performance of the Taishan V120, which is developed by Huawei’s HiSilicon subsidiary. The score suggests that the performance of Taishan V120 cores is comparable to AMD’s Zen 3 cores.
The benchmark result can be a Kunpeng server CPU, likely to be the Kunpeng 930, and was produced on SMIC’s second-generation 7nm node.
Although there were plans to launch Kunpeng 930 and 950 on TSMC’s advanced nodes, those had to be shelved due to Huawei’s ban from fabbing at TSMC.
