Huawei Touts the Camera in Its Newest Premium Smartphone, which Lacks 5G Connectivity

Huawei Technologies introduced a USD 658 4G smartphone with a top-end camera. CEO of Huawei’s consumer arm, Richard Yu, presented Huawei’s self-developed XMAGE camera at a Chinese language-only event in Shanghai last year. XMAGE camera is now on the flagship after Leica moved its partnership with rival phone maker Xiaomi. Huawei has been the subject of regular rounds of US export controls since 2019 cutting off the supply of chips from US companies and access to US technology to build its chips.
