Esri has collaborated with Databricks to offer users the advanced spatial analysis capabilities of Esri’s ArcGIS software. ArcGIS software is easily accessible on Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Databricks’ big data platform.
The Databricks Lakehouse platform combines data science, data engineering, machine learning, and analytics into a unified platform, says Roger Murff, VP of partnerships for Databricks products.
Moreover, the clients require a robust spatial component. Geoanalytics tools running on Databricks will allow users to execute spatial analysis on a scale that Databricks is used to, adds Murff.
According to Esri’s director of global business development, Richard Cooke, it will enable data scientists to access the spatial analysis tools available natively within the Databricks environment.
