According to Kyodo News, a developer of ChatGPT announced that his company is opening an office in Japan in response to growing concerns about the chatbot’s impact on learning environments and unauthorized collection of personal data.
As the dangers of artificial intelligence are anticipated to be discussed at the Group of Seven ministerial meeting on digital issues, which Japan will host in late April, Chief Executive of US-based OpenAI, Sam Altman, met Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo.
The chief cabinet secretary, Hirokazu Matsuno, announced on Monday that Japan will look into implementing chatbot technology to lessen the administrative demands placed on public employees.
