ByteDance plans to restructure its Nuverse gaming brand from the mainstream video games business after a review.
The company regularly reviews its businesses and adjusts to focus on long-term strategic growth areas. Following a recent review, it has now planned to work on unreleased games.
Due to this decision, casual gaming brand Ohayoo, whose games feature on Douyin, will not be affected, nor will casual games developed by ByteDance.
ByteDance had also begun seeking buyers for game-developing subsidiary Moonton Technology.
ByteDance’s creation of Nuverse was a major push into global gaming and a strategic element in the gaming company.
