AMD Launches AFMF 2: Lower Latency and New Modes for Enhanced Gaming

AMD has unveiled AFMF 2, improving their Fluid Motion Frames technology with up to 28% lower latency, benefiting various resolutions.

This iteration, compatible with RDNA 2 and RDNA devices, specifically improves gaming experiences—like reducing latency by 28% in Cyberpunk 2077 played at 4K resolution with an RX 7900 XTX. AFMF 2 introduces “Search” and “Performance” modes; the former adjusts frame generation smoothness across 1080p and 1440p settings, while the latter optimizes performance for devices with lower specs, especially useful for integrated graphics.

These updates are accessible via the Adrenalin control panel and cater to different user needs for enhanced gameplay quality and performance.
