The manufacturer of a custom machine learning system-on-a-chip, SiMa Technologies Inc., announced that it has started shipping two plug-in processing cards and its SiMa.ai Palette software platform for the development of a full machine learning stack.
The San Jose, California-based business claimed that without sacrificing performance, the development platform supports the deployment of any machine learning workflow at the edge. The company said that MLSoCs, which use 16-nanometer technology, feature application processors, machine learning acceleration, and computer vision processors for pre- and post-processing of images.
According to the manufacturer, its hardware performs 10 times better than general-purpose chips while using less power. It is initially concentrating on applications for computer vision.
